I am a woman. I am a nurse. I love being a nurse. Nursing is a women dominated profession. This means something. Nurses care for patients, they are healthcare leaders, they are scientists, they are researchers. Care, compassion, kindness, love, don’t belong to women. But, this warm embrace, this deep entanglement of women and nursing has helped shape the profession. I have (at least one) daughter.

In celebration of International Women’s Day, this entire week my children and I are going to watch the following films:
