I turned 40 last month. And so, the reflections on possibly half of my life begin. Do you ever feel like social media is more about advertising than anything? There was a shift from TV to smart phones and laptops but what are the real marvels of communications have forever changed the 2020s? All I can see on Instagram and YouTube is presentations of self in everyday life that are edited, branded, and selling something.
Oh how cynical of me.
2022 are you going to be a downhill slope?
Is this all B.S.? I’m getting really frustrated with the cries of social injustice from people who in the bottom of their hearts truly believe that not being able to go into a store without a mask is a holocaust-level human rights violation but still don’t give a shit that the 60s scoop is still happening or about the lack of oversight about actual legislation detaining people against their will.
One thing I know for sure in my 40th year, all we have is each other. The world is fucked if the path to adulthood is self-reliance, gumption and doing our own research. How is it possible that so many people think their decisions only impact one person?

Love,
Michelle D.
