Today the Canadian Government announced that Dr. Leigh Chapman, RN is the new Chief Nursing Officer of Canada. This is a big deal, not just for nurses. The Conservative government under the leadership of Steven Harper eliminated the position ten years ago. Scholars like Dr. Sonya Grypma have been calling for the reinstatement of the CNO position for years.
